It’s International Women’s Day and we’ve put together a variety of resources to help you celebrate & learn more about issues facing women. We have a display at the Reference & Research Desk in honor of Women’s History Month. You can also consult the Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies program library research guide.
The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is gender parity. Here’s why organizers chose that theme: “The World Economic Forum predicted in 2014 that it would take until 2095 to achieve global gender parity. Then one year later in 2015, they estimated that a slowdown in the already glacial pace of progress meant the gender gap wouldn’t close entirely until 2133.”
We hope you take some time today, this month – or really any time – to learn more about gender parity and ways you can be a part of the conversation and solution.
