Research Help – Now and Always Posted on September 16th, 2019 by

reference deskAs you get started on research for the semester (or maybe you’re already knee deep in it), we want to remind you that the Gustavus Library & its librarians are here to help you with your research. We can assist and guide you with anything research-related, whether it’s recommending places and ways to search, brainstorming topic ideas, or troubleshooting any research problem you encounter.

There are multiple ways to get research help at any time of day and according to your preferences:

Drop in at the Reference & Research Help desk to talk directly with a librarian – no appointment needed! The desk is past the Front Desk. (You can also request an appointment with a librarian through the same link.)

Chat with someone at the Front Desk – they can help with general library questions & also connect you with a librarian.

Consult our library Research Guides, which contain recommended sources and search tips for a variety of subjects and classes. Each guide is carefully curated by reference librarians with your research needs in mind. Browse the list to locate guides related to your area of study. You’ll find a wealth of information that will help you do research well.

You can also directly email any of the librarians you see listed on the Research Guides. Don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’re here to help you!
