Doing Research…in Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies Posted on April 17th, 2018 by

Are you taking a Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies (GWSS) course and need to conduct some research? Or maybe you have ongoing research interests in this interdisciplinary field. Either way, the Gustavus Library is here to help.

Topics in GWSS are wonderfully diverse and interdisciplinary. Since many fields and approaches contribute to our understanding of GWSS, it can be difficult to know where to start.

The GWSS Research Guide will help you navigate various topics, fields and approaches related to your subject interest. Use the tabs at the top to narrow down your field of interest and explore various types of sources. The guide will also help you think through sophisticated research approaches, like the importance of doing cited reference searches.

You can find some gems in our GWSS reference section – most of the related works are found in or around the HQ section of the reference collection (Library’s main floor on the Beck Hall side). Our circulating collection of GWSS materials is especially robust. You can find most of these on the third floor, again in or around the HQ section.

Finally, you can contact Julie Gilbert, GWSS liaison librarian, or any librarian with research questions or to brainstorm research strategies. We look forward to working with you!
