Extra Cool Student-Created Zine

We are pleased to display a zine created by Emily Monicken for her creative writing class. You can find Emily’s zine displayed on the main floor of the library (near the Christmas tree.) A part of Emily’s project is to collect responses from people who interact with her zine. So stop on by, check out Emily’s gorgeous zine, and leave a comment.

Our zine collection, which lives on shelves just outside the Hasselquist Room on the main floor, is geared toward expressive work that is hand-made and photocopied, representing an alternative to traditional or web publishing, with particular emphasis on local artists/writers, memoir (perzines), art and literature, gender and diversity, and contemporary protest movements.

If you’re interested in learning more about zines, we have a guide for that. Thanks to Emily for donating her zine to our permanent collection!

Are you an artist or writer looking to temporarily or permanently display your work in the library? Contact us to discuss further. We love showcasing creative work, especially works created by our campus community.
