Celebrate National Poetry Month Posted on April 19th, 2021 by

National Poetry Month PosterApril 2021 is the 25th anniversary of National Poetry Month!

Celebrate the voices of poets from today and the past:

“The Hill We Climb” (excerpt) – Amanda Gorman, 2021
When day comes we ask ourselves,
where can we find light in this never-ending shade? …
We’ve learned that quiet isn’t always peace
     And the norms and notions
     of what just is
     Isn’t always just-ice
And yet the dawn is ours…

     “You” – Walt Whitman, 1860
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me?
And why should I not speak to you?
