Patricia Lindell Scholarship Recipient Posted on November 19th, 2019 by

We are pleased to announce that Aimen Zara (Junior, Management major) is the recipient of the Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library’s 2019-2020 Patricia Lindell Scholarship.

This year’s project will explore how the library can improve its website to better serve student needs. Aimen’s work experience and coursework has provided her with a strong foundation in comparative analysis, web strategies, and digital marketing for nonprofit organizations. She has worked with Pakistan International Airlines in the marketing department as an intern, where she identified, developed, and evaluated a marketing strategy based on establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors. She also conducted commercial surveys to identify potential markets for services and studied the objectives, promotional policies, and needs of organizations to develop public relations strategies.

Additionally, through her coursework with Professor Cathy Harms, she has had the opportunity to collaborate in a group to work with the director of Wilderness Canoe Base, a non-profit organization, to help improve their marketing strategies. This fall, she is taking another class with Professor Harms focusing on digital marketing, specifically website and social media optimization. She, along with her group members, are working with the pastor and intern at Grace Lutheran Church, Saint Paul to help them improve their digital and social media presence.

We congratulate Aimen and look forward to working with her this spring!
