Our library is a selective Federal Depository of United States Federal Government Publications. What does that mean? It means that, among other things, we have some really cool & useful government documents in our collection. Our paper collection can be found on the lower floor of the library, although many government documents are also available electronically through the library catalog.
In fact, when you’re searching the catalog, you’re also automatically searching our government documents collection. If you find a hearing or other document that looks interesting, click on the title and look for a link to the document online.
With the exception of documents published by the Interior Department, most government documents lack a certain, well, cover appeal. A display of pamphlets featuring black typeset on white pages lacks visual appeal. Thanks to Brittany, one of our amazing student workers, we now have a new and appealing way to display our government documents.
This month’s display is especially timely, considering President Obama’s recent Supreme Court nomination announcement, as it features Supreme Court cases. The display can be found on the main floor of the library near the entrance.
