Through no fault of his own, Cameron is an unreliable narrator. Is he actually on a road trip or is it all an illusion? The answer to this matters less than the questions that Cameron grapples with along the way – questions of reality, identity, life and death. Readers who persevere will be rewarded – and occasionally infuriated, but in a good way – by Cameron’s journey.
