Stress Less @ The Library

Poster describing the activities for the library's Stress Less @ the Library Reading Day on December 14.

The library is hosting a variety of activities from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Reading Day, December 14, for students to enjoy as a way to relieve some of the pressures that come with the end of the semester. We hope Gusties will join us and take advantage of the many ways you can Stress Less @ The Library this finals season:

Stress-Relieving Mind Training

Feeling Stressed? Anxious? Disconnected? You aren’t alone. These are stressful times, both in the world at large and on campus. Studies show that just a few minutes of mind training can help reduce stress, improve our sense of connectedness, and help us sleep better.

Interested? Join librarian and meditation teacher Julie Gilbert for two drop-in sessions at the Library. We’ll meet for 20 minutes at 12:00 and 3:00 in the Special Collections and Rare Books Room on the main floor. No experience necessary. Come as you are.

Bonus: You can also join Julie from 10:00-10:20 in the Bonnier Multifaith Center on the same day for additional mind training.

Tea Cart and Cookies

Feeling peckish from all of that studying? Take a break and come and enjoy some tea and cookies on us.

Friendship Bracelets

Check out our Taylor Swift Book Display inspired by the singer’s Eras Tour. Show your real Swiftie pride (or not) by making friendship bracelets with supplies provided by the library.

For the Love of Books

Need a reading recommendation that isn’t your course text? Come see the displays and posters created by the “For the Love of Books” First Term Seminar. You can even make your own bookmark to use for marking your place in your next great read.

You can also Stress Less @ The Library by coming here to study, meeting group members to complete a project, or getting help from Librarians for any of your last-minute research needs. We are rooting for you as you wrap up the semester!
