New Library and Archives Grants Page Posted on March 14th, 2013 by

The Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library and the College and Lutheran Church Archives have both received a number of grants within recent years that will now be showcased on the “Library & Archives Grants” page, located on the “Library Information” page. The grants page includes descriptions of the awarded grants, granting organizations, lists of additions to the collection, and projects funded by the grants.

Library grants include the Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys, The Nippon Foundation’s Read Japan book donation program, and the International Society for Science and Religion award. Archives grants include two Minnesota Historical and Cultural Grants, a Swedish Council of America grant, and Gustavus’s Sesquicentennial Mini-Grant.

The new grants page seeks to showcase and publicize the Library’s intentional work to enhance and improve its collection and the Archives’ dedication to the preservation and public accessibility of historic materials of lasting value. Hopefully the future grants received by both the Library and Archives will progressively reflect a deeper and increasingly diverse collection of materials that will aid the Gustavus community in all areas of scholarship.
