Patricia Lindell Scholarship Application Now Open!

Posted on October 1st, 2021 by

Every other year, the Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library awards a junior or senior student the Patricia Lindell Scholarship, established through the generosity of the Friends of the Library – Gustavus Library Associates. The recipient will be awarded $1,200 to undertake a research project of value to the Library and/or the wider Gustavus community. The scholarship is awarded upon the successful completion of the project.

Because of the time commitment involved, applicants are strongly recommended to apply for independent study credit during the spring semester (up to .5 credits).

This year’s project will focus on highlighting Judaica materials available in both the Library and Religion Department.  Working with Professor Abe Nemon and in collaboration with the Religion department, the scholarship recipient will create an online research guide to books and other materials related to the study of Judaism.  In addition, the recipient might also prepare displays or social media posts to highlight the materials.

The successful candidate must be comfortable with technology, able to work independently and with initiative, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and will be able to manage their time to complete the project successfully.
