Join the community on Thursday, December 5th, between 3:00 and 4:30 in the Book Mark to congratulate and celebrate poet Matt Rasmussen. Matt’s first book or poetry, Black Aperture, was a finalist for this years’s National Book Award. There will be refreshments! And you can do some holiday shopping while you’re at it – because surely someone on your list needs a signed copy of Matt’s book.
This is not the first time his work has been honored. The collection won the Walt Whitman award from the Academy of American Poets and a poem from Black Aperture was selected for a Pushcart Prize, which honors work coming from small presses.
Read more about Matt and his work in the Pioneer Press in a profile by Mary Ann Grossman.
This celebration is sponsored by the Office of the Provost and hosted by the English Department, the Book Mark, and the Library.
